Richard was born in Hobson, Virginia on April 9, 1948 proud parents, Louis and Maggie Chapman. He grew up in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He was the eldest of two brothers and three sisters. He attended school in Hobson, Virginia. He was a kind and gentle giant who always looked out for others. Everyone always looked forward to seeing him because he would instantly light up any room that he entered. He had a pet name for every single person that he knew. To know him was to love him. All that knew Richard had a saying…He can talk you to death! Richard was a kind and loving soul; with a constant smile on his face and lots of laughter for all.

He was always a hard worker. He would work three jobs at the same time. He operated heavy equipment for the City of Asbury. He received an Honor of Valor for rescuing a police officer who was in distress. He was a longtime employee of Fitkins Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey. Richard also worked for Shell Oil Company. He loved old school music, fashion, and had a deep love for family.

Richard is preceded in death by both parents. His maternal grandmother Bertha Lee Bland; brother, James Archie Winslow and sister, Doris Ann Goldwire.

He is survived by his former wife and special friend, Sharon R. Robinson. He is also survived by his wife, Lil Winslow; brother, Robert M. Winslow (Althena); sisters, Valerie Williams and Lynette Brown (Lloyd); daughters, Cathy Lee Winslow, Timekia I. Green (Clinton), Jackie A. Winslow; son, Richard Lee Winslow, Jr. (Robriet). A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special cousins (Jill Winslow, Rose Davis, Gladys Mills) and a plethora of loyal and caring friends.
