Richard Beverly Coleman was born January 10, 1937, in Enterprise, Mississippi to William Coleman, Sr. and Ineal Earl Coleman. On January 9, 1963, he married the love of his life, Arletha Sharp and God blessed their union with four children, Beverly, Tanga, Adam, and Risa. Richard was a dedicated servant and trustee at New Jerusalem A.M.E. Church and an affiliate member of St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church, where he served on the Steward Board and was a loyal member of the Male Chorus.
Richard was a workaholic and believed in providing for his family. He worked at J.I. Case Company in Racine, Wisconsin until he retired and moved to Dallas, Texas where he started his own Landscaping business which led to a long-term client, former Governor Bill Clements in which he retired in 2010.
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Richard entered into eternal rest with his almighty God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ineal and William Coleman, Sr.; brother, Alvin Smith, William Coleman, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Lee Smith, Vernon Thomas, Sr. and Samuel Borden, Sr. and a host of other family members.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Arletha Coleman; daughters, Paulletta Coleman, Beverly Lynn Coleman-Hoskins (Nathan), Tanga Coleman-Robertson (Charles), Risa Coleman; sons, Richard Coleman, Jr., Adam Coleman; sisters, Pinkie Smith and Barbra Thomas of Racine Wisconsin; grandchildren, Breanna Henderson, Katlin Oliver, Kailetha Oliver, Jasmine Coleman, Aiden Coleman, Addison Coleman, Isiah Coleman Cage, Albert Williams, Deron Coleman; great-grandchildren, Donte Ali Hill, Jr., Zahara Cage; special niece, Laurie Jean Coleman-McIntosh and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
