Obituary

Williams Eugene Bradford was born September 3, 1934, in Round Prairie, Texas of Navarro County. His proud parents were Georgia Carter and William Henry Bradford. He graduated high school in Kerens, Texas and furthered his education at Prairie View A & M University where he obtained his Masters' Degree in Agriculture. He taught school in Oakwood, Texas and Kerens, Texas for many years.

He met and married His soul mate Oneida Durham in September 1959, to this union one daughter was born named Beryl, she enlightened their life with joy and love. After his teaching career, he put his agriculture degree where he pursued work for the government as a Soil Conservationist for over decade.

He also enjoyed working with young people and judging animals at the State Fair of Texas.

He retired from the Department of Agriculture where he received many accolades for his distinguished services. He was a faithful substitute teacher at the Dallas Independent School District as well as volunteer that all the staff and students loved.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined as a Family, the New Hope Baptist Church in Kerens, Texas.

He embraced Christian leadership and education during all his tenure at New Hope Church. He served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Brotherhood, Board of Trustees, Deacon, and Treasurer of the Friendship District Association for over 50 years. He was called to preach in 1970 and was ordained as the assistant Pastor at New Hope Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Samuel L. Washington Sr. He was called to Pastor the Bethlehem Baptist Church in 1991 in Grandview, Texas where he faithfully served for over 30 years.

He was always active in the community and involved with outreach efforts particularly when he would travel to Odessa, Texas, where he would facilitate, teach, and lead seminars in the Area Youth Movement for thirty plus years. During his retirement tenure, he was invited to join Robert's Ready to Wear Apparel family business and served until his health declined.

He will reunite in heaven with his parents and sister Laura Kelly-Hunter, Aunt Anna Carroll and Aunt Callie Sanders, and other Family Members.

He leaves to cherish his legacy: His beloved wife of 64 years, his only child/daughter (Beryl), his granddaughters (Cobria and Britney Grant), great grandson (Caden Grant), his sister Dorothy Hall- Jenkins (Manuel), special cousin Robert Sanders (Pam), and a myriad of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
