B Moore, Sr
April 24, 1943 – May 22, 2022
Life's Reflection
Freddie B. Moore Sr. was born April 24, 1943, in Simms, Texas to the late Will Henry Moore Sr. and Sadie
Lee Moore. Freddie was the third born of eight siblings. He was immersed in a Christian community
that would be his support from an early age.
Freddie began his education in New Boston area and would continue it in Denton, Texas graduating from Fred Moore High School. He proudly served in the Unites States Army from January 1969 to November 1971. He served in the Vietnam War, reaching a rank of SP5, receiving an honorable discharge.
Freddie an avid believer in education received his Heating Venting and Air Conditioning certificate from Dallas County Community College. He would further his studies at Criswell College Dallas, Texas where he would receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 and a Master of Art in Pastoral Care in 2006.
Freddie's employment began at Texas Woman's University, Denton, TX. His love for cars would eventually lead him to General Motors where he worked for 30 years before retiring.
Freddie's love for the Lord would deepen at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Denton, TX. He would leave Pleasant Grove and unite with Bibleway Bible Church Dallas, TX under the leadership of Dr. Eddie Lane where he accepted Christ in 1972 serving as Deacon and receiving his calling into the ministry.
Freddie united with Porter Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Dallas, TX under the leadership of Dr. Herbert Scott. He received his Deacon and Elder orders and was placed in Full Connection under leadership of Bishop Caesar D. Coleman. Rev. Freddie Moore received his first Pastoral appointment in Whitewright, Texas serving Edwards Chapel and Western Beauty. He would go on to Pastor Maude B. Porter, Dallas, TX, Bullock Chapel, Dallas, TX, Carter Temple, Dallas, TX and Porter Temple, Dallas, TX. He retired in 2017 after pastoring for 31 years, serving under five Bishops and three Elders.
Rev. Moore held several positions within the Dallas-Fort Worth Region Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. He served eight years as the Region Women's Missionary Patron Minister, four years as the DFW Region Director of Social Concerns and four years as the Dallas District Women's Missionary Patron Minister.
He loved God, family, basketball, football, and most of all rebuilding cars. His ingenuous mind could fix
anything broken. He was the compass for his loved ones and friends pointing everyone to Christ. He
never wanted anyone to miss an opportunity to get to church therefore if transportation was needed,
he would pick you up himself and it did not matter the distance. When he was not under the hood of
his truck you could find him watching the game. What game? Any game.
He married Charlotte Moore on July 19, 2003, with this union five children were brought together as one family. He modeled the fruits of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience kindness, goodness, generosity, faithfulness and self-control as a husband, father, brother, and uncle. He was known for his humbleness.
Those who preceded him and are waiting to greet him in Glory are Will H. and Sadie L. Moore (parents), Joe Martin and Pink W. Moore Sr. (brothers) and Doris Parks (sister).
