Obituary

Reuben Leroy Cooper was born to the late parentage of John Cooper and Sylvia Lurene on August 5th, 1950, in Jefferson, TX. Reuben was named after an uncle but would be known as Leroy throughout his life. Reuben attended the Jefferson Independent School District, and he graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of 1968. Reuben accepted Christ at an early age and grew up attending services at Macedonia United Methodist Church. He joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He later moved to Dallas, TX, joining other family members and working at Mrs. Baird's Bakery, Varo Semi-Conductor, and Manor Bakery over the years. He met his wife Linda in 1971, and they spent 54 years together. His most enjoyable time was spent with his family, watching game shows, and his love for classic cars.

The Lord declared that Reuben's battle must end, calling him from labor into his reward. He entered eternal rest with family at his side on April 7th, 2025.

His celebration of life will be remembered by his wife, Linda Cooper; son Kevin (LaTosha); daughter LaKayla; three grandsons: Kevon, Kaneal, and Kyrie Cooper; his siblings Lula Espy, John Cooper, Tealer Nealy, Ida Taylor, Tommy Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends.
