Obituary

Reginald Isom Curry was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 2, 1955, to Cicero Curry Sr., and Rosie Lee (Taylor) Curry. He was the sixth of nine children. He spent many hours in his youth helping his father in the construction trades. Although he often did remodeling, he took a particular interest in electrical work. He worked for many years in the Chicago area, marrying and fathering three daughters. The construction trades became his life work. Years later he relocated to Florida, where he met and married Mary. After the devastation of Hurricane Andrew in Florida, the family relocated to Texas where he established Heavenly Contractors, which served the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He was the owner and operator of his business for over 20 years, specializing in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning in recent years. He took great pride in having his sons work and learn the business from him, as he had worked with his father. A proud husband, father, and grandfather, he loved to share the adventures of his wife and children, and their many accomplishments as the children and grandchildren grew.

Reginald never met a stranger. He was quick to say something that would make you laugh. He was also quick to share news of his family and testimonies of the Lord's blessings in his life. He particularly loved to share the Good News of the gospel of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He would often pray on the spot for any person in need. He had a revelation of the Lordship of Jesus as a young man and accepted the unconditional love and forgiveness that God offers. Reginald received his Certificate of Ordination in the Gospel Ministry on August 26, 1984 at the All Nations United Baptist Church of Christ, in Chicago. For many years he attended church at The Potter's House in Dallas with his family.

Reginald leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Curry; his nine children: Tiffany (Tony) Kennedy; Helen Curry McElveen; Aja Joy Snowden; Antonio (Erin) Smith; Jermaine (Christy)

Smith; Derrick (Taylor) Smith; Jessica Smith; Karen Curry; and Reginald I. Curry, Jr; fifteen grandchildren: Tyree Kennedy, Tony Kennedy, Jr., Tianna Kennedy, Aran Brown, Cheriah Snowden, Tiara Smith, Daunte Smith, Saniah Smith, Caleb Wise, Adarius Wise, Amber Smith, Isaiah Smith, Lily Curry, Desmond Smith, and Demetri Smith; eight siblings: Cicero (Rosalind) Curry II, Phyllis Townsend, Kenneth Curry, Michael Curry, Stewart Curry, Karen (Duke) Odizor; Adam (Serena) Curry, and Phillip Curry. Reginald also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
