Prentice Odale
Williams Sr.
April 4, 1969 – February 28, 2023
Prentice Odale Williams, Sr. was the third child born to the parents of LeRoy Williams and Lillian Prentice Starks on April 4, 1969, in Dallas, Texas.
Prentice was baptized and accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. As a child he attended Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church and later relocated his membership to Redeem Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon until his untimely death.
Prentice was educated in DISD and was a 1987 graduate of David W. Carter High School. Prentice was a man of service and sacrifice. After graduating high school Prentice made one of his many sacrifices and began a lifelong career in the military. This sacrifice spanned 23 years. Upon retirement from the U.S. Army, he began a teaching career as an ROTC instructor for both DISD and LISD. Prentice had a love for training and preparing all of his students for future endeavors. He especially enjoyed working with the Color Guard on presentations and drill and ceremony.
Prentice was a loving and devoted family man who took great pride in his family whom he leaves behind to mourn him. Those that will forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Thalia Williams; his four sons Prentice Williams, Jr, Jayden Williams, Devin Bradford and Jordan Bradford; his parents; three sisters Cynthia Bush, Lacresha Baylor and Denika Williams; two brothers Leroy Williams, Jr. and Oliver Williams Hand; one grandchild Prentice Williams, III and host of nieces and nephews.
