Life Reflections
Phyllis Ann Gibson was born on January 31, 1950, in Taft, Oklahoma, to the union of George and Flora Mae Davenport. After the passing of her parents at an early age, she was lovingly adopted and raised by Calvin Masters and Leona Brunner Masters.
Phyllis was fiercely independent, caring, nurturing, giving and treasured by all who knew and loved her. She graduated from Manual Training High School and later proudly served in the military. During her years of service, she met and married James Walden, and to this union two sons were born.
Later in life, she found love again and married Johnny Gibson in 2005. Through this marriage, she lovingly embraced two bonus children—a daughter and a son—whom she loved as her own.
Mrs. Gibson retired from the military after faithfully completing 10 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her birth parents, George and Flora Davenport; her adopted parents, Calvin Masters and Leona Brunner Masters; eight siblings, Georgia, Marine, Sherman, Patricia, Joann, Bobby, Rhonda, and Alice; and her bonus son, Johnathan.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband of 21 years, Johnny Gibson; her devoted sons, Sir Samuel B. Walden and Calvin Walden; and the daughters she loved, raised, and nurtured, Shiquitia Kenney (Clarence) and Tanalya Wilson (Michael).
She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Myrtle, Rodney, Hattie, Natalie, Thurman, Marion, Gloria, and Tony, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
