On April 4th 1967 Phillip Wayne Sudds was born to the parentage of Rev. Joy C. Sudds and Jewel L. Sudds, in Dallas, TX. He received his education from the Dallas Independent School District and graduated in 1985 from L.G. Pinkston High School. He was employed as a Truck Driver with Budweiser for many years, and then upon leaving Budweiser he became employed with U.S. Xpress for 13 years where he received several Safe Driver Awards. Phillip was also a talented and gifted singer/ musician.
Phillip's introduction to Christianity started from birth. His first singing experience started at the early age of 8 years old. He was the lead singer for "The Voices of Paradise" which was a trio group with his two sisters Lilly and Joyce, were they song before their father's sermon, and that experience lead him to sing with the choir in high school and be a part of the jazz band. After high school Phillip's singing gift lead him to be a part of a great gospel group called the "Gospel All-stars" and later a talented & terrific group called "Three- D". Phillip continued his singing and musical talents thorough out his life journey.
Phillip's talent as a musician made him an active member of many amazing churches; Galilee Baptist Church; Victory Baptist Church; True Love Baptist Church; Church on the Move/E-Word and St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. He recently was honored and received the "Living Legend Award" presented by St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
Phillip will be remembered for his quick wit, hearty laugh, great smile, kind and loving spirit. He loved the latest fashions and loved his family. He will be missed by each of us.
Phillip was preceded in death by: his loving parents Rev. Joy C. Sudds & Jewel L.Sudds; his grand-parents Alfonzo & Mary Sudds and Arthur & Carrie Phelps.
His survivors are: his son, Phillip Sudds II; his daughter, Phillicia(Phi)Sudds; his four sisters, Lilly Jones; Joyce Sudds-Gatewood (Yaiwan); Sharon Miller; Mary Scott; one aunt, Ruby Thompson; one uncle, Arthur Phelps; nephew, Quincy Jones; niece, Lakecia Jones; and a host of great nephews & nieces; cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 2:00 PM at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 4536 Philip St., Dallas, TXxVisits: 0
