Obituary

Born on October 7, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, Pervis L. Lloyd was the first son of Olivia Lloyd and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Tommy and Rachel Lloyd. Being of the Baptist faith, he accepted Christ at an early age and believed deeply in the Word of God.

Pervis attended Parkview High School, where he was known not only for his academic dedication but also for his engaging personality and infectious enthusiasm. After high school, he continued his education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), where he further developed his skills and prepared for the adventures that lay ahead. His time at UALR was marked by his commitment to learning and his ability to foster lifelong friendships.

Pervis proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran. This period of service was a defining chapter in his life, instilling in him a sense of duty, honor, and resilience that would guide him in the years to come. After his military service, Pervis understood the importance of guiding young people and devoted countless hours to working at the Dallas Recreation Center.

Pervis transitioned into a meaningful career as an OTR truck driver, a profession he embraced with pride and dedication for more than 20 years. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his contributions to the industry were significant.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Pervis was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a true community servant. His marriage to Stephanie Robinson Lloyd was a testament to love and partnership, marked by mutual respect and a shared vision for their family. As a father and grandfather, Pervis showed love and compassion and was always there to support his family.

Known for his lively spirit and charismatic nature, everyone who knew Pervis was aware of his boundless enthusiasm as a passionate and very vocal San Francisco 49ers fan. His love for the team was infectious, and his spirited conversations about the games brought joy to those around him.

Pervis was preceded in death by his beloved mother, his cherished grandparents, his son Xavier Lloyd, and his siblings Dorothy Flint Nelson, Marie Curup, and Livia Nelson. Though they are dearly missed, their memories live on in the stories shared by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Stephanie Robinson Lloyd, who stood by his side through life's journey; his siblings Leola Nelson, Edward Nelson, Zerna Brown, Christine Nelson, Lisa Nelson, Yvonne Lloyd, Eddie Lloyd, Grathey Nelson, Lue S. Hood, and Paul Nelson, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His children, Pervis Lloyd Jr., Shena Lloyd, Ariel Lloyd, Bobby Earl Chalk Jr., Emeka S. Ogbonna, and Jacoby Ogbonna, were a source of immense pride and joy for him. His beloved grandchildren, D'Angelo Cannon Jr., A'leira Earl, Aaliyah Earl, A'launna Lloyd, Joseph Matassa, Christian Rodriguez, and Synda Stubbs, brought laughter and light into his life. Pervis is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends who shared in his life's journey.

Pervis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will resonate for generations to come. His life was a testament to the impact one person can have on the hearts and lives of many, and his memory will be forever cherished.
