Percy Boyd Hillman, 77, returned to her heavenly home July 2, 2017. Her firm belief in Jesus Christ and her devotion to her family and friends, supported her throughout her life and ultimately gave her peace.
Percy was born on July 12, 1939 through the union of Percy and Ruby Boyd in Hallsville, TX, the second of five children.
Percy married the love of her life, Robert Hillman, on March 23, 1957.
Percy was a retired entrepreneur who owned her own beauty shop, Percy's Hair Care, in Far Rockaway, New York. Once retired she moved back to Texas to be closer to her family.
Once settled back in Texas, Robert and Percy became prominent members of St. John Baptist Church. Percy loved her Church family and sat in the same section at the 7:00 service weekly that eventually was called "Percy's Corner" by many.
Percy was a kind, loving, tender hearted and graceful woman who had a smile that made all that met her, love her. She was a model of unconditional love and always allowed her light to shine through her words, actions or meals and she was an excellent cook.
Words cannot express how much Percy will be missed by her loved ones and friends who celebrate the fact that she is at PEACE with her creator.
Percy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hillman, mother Ruby Criss and brother David Boyd. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Serita Gray (Bennie Gray) Terre Gibson (Dewayne), Special Daughter Oshearra Minor (Benjamin) Sister Patricia Moore (William), Sister in Law's: Emma Boyd and Goldie Hodge; Special sister Cassandra Lindsay (Louie) Brothers Samuel Wilson (Hazel) and Calvin Boyd; Grandchildren Danielle Allen (Chad) Kia Pearl (Jeremy) and Courtni Boyd (Michael) Taylor Coleman; Great-Grandchildren Brooklyn Allen, Blake Allen, Winston Pearl, Mason Pearl, Peyton Boyd and Paige Boyd and a host of special nieces, nephews and friends.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Aunt, cousin and friend was always a source of strength and inspiration and will always be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
