Paula was born to the parentage of Lucy and Sam McDonald on June 3, 1937, in Caroline, Texas. She was raised in Lubbuck, Texas along with her other siblings until she moved to Dallas later in life. In 1958 Paula met and later married Howard Callahan in 1963. Unto this union 5 children were born. Paula worked as a food prepper and caterer for Wyatt's Cafeteria for close to 40 years until her retirement. Paula was a faithful member of the Inspiring Body of Christ Church for the last 25 years.

Paula is preceded in death by both parents Lucy and Sam McDonald, son Manuel, daughter Jeffrie Ann, sisters, Zeke, Della, Vada, Bobbie and brother Robert.

She leaves to cherish her memories: son Howard (Amy), daughters, Vada Pelham and Madeline Hayes (Kelvin), sister Dorothy Rae Parish (Artis), brothers Rev. Milton McDonald, Elder Dilton McDonald (Linda); 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
