Patricia "Ann" Smith
Patricia Ann Smith was born May 28th, 1951, in Pineville, Louisiana, daughter of the late Louise Grace (LG) Moore and Lloyd "Tookie" James Franklin.
Most people knew her as Patricia, but her family member knew her Ann. Patricia Ann was the youngest of four daughters, but was number five of seven children, her siblings were the late Charlotte "Sis" Lewis, Willie Charles (WC) Cummings, and Robert "Devell" Moore. She is survived by her two older sisters Elnora "Pumpkin" Walker, Betty Ray Cummings Johnson, her brother John(Felicia) Moore Jr. and her only daughter Sheila(Al "Damon")Gay, her nephews Dewayne Walker, Carlos Ridley, Bryan Ridley, Ray Allen Capterville Jr., Darrell Walker, Joe Sorrells, Willie Charles Cummings Jr., Duran "Darryl" Waters, Derrick Walker, Markies Moore, the late Jeremy Moore, Tobias Ming, and DeJohn Moore, her nieces the late Carlotte A. Cummings, and survived by her nieces Cynthia R. Capterville, Natanya Moore, and Jena Moore, and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patricia attended Goodpine High School in Jena, LA in which she was the team manager for the Lady Tigers. Patricia moved to Southern California in the mid 1960's in which she attended Fremont High School. Patricia Ann and was a graduate of Dominguez High School in Compton, CA. She went on to attend Compton College.
Patricia was a member of Church on the Way in Sherman Oaks, CA in which she was an active member of the choir. Patricia Smith moved to the Dallas metropolitan area in 2010. Patricia was a current member of Community Missionary Baptist Church, Desoto. TX.
Patricia Ann worked in the banking industry for years as a teller, then as a loan officer, before making a transition into Accounts Payable still in the banking industry. Patricia Ann loved to sing and dance, and her family members will deeply miss receiving her birthday calls every year. I know that she is dancing and singing in God's heavenly choir.
Patricia Ann transitioned on June 16th, 2022, in Desoto, Texas at Methodist Charleston Hospital.
We all have our own special memories of Patricia Ann that will always hold a special place in our hearts.
