Osagie Cheikhanta Agbon was born July 3, 1992, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria to Jamila Z Agbon and Izielen S Agbon. He passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Osagie was a charismatic leader and an inspiration to all those around him. Osagie was a bright son and brother who lit up any room he was in with his smile and energy.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed travelling to many places around the world. Some of the places he lived in were Nigeria and Venezuela where he spent his youth, Texas where he graduated from Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center School of Engineering in 2010. He then attended Oklahoma State University where he completed his undergraduate degree in History and Political Science in 2014, and London where he obtained his Master of Political Communications and Mass Media at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2017.
Osagie accomplished a successful career working as a multimedia journalist and Supervisor while living in DC and New York. He worked for Voice of America, a global company that reached a weekly global audience of 326 million people in more than 40 languages in nearly 100 countries and served as Teaching Artist with Big Thought in Dallas. He also worked as a dedicated volunteer for the President Barack Obama Presidential campaign. Osagie loved people and his true passion was making other people smile and laugh.
Osagie was a well respected comedian who performed in a host of cities including Dallas, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, Boston, New York and London, England.
On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Osagie transitioned from this life. Osagie is survived by his parents Izielen and Jamila Agbon, his brother Osahon Agbon, and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, and close friends.
