Ocie Freeman
Mcgee
December 23, 1964 – May 6, 2025
Ocie Freeman McGee III was born a star on December 23, 1964, in Dallas, TX, to the parentage of Rev. Mr. Ocie Freeman McGee Jr. and Mrs. Florine Dorsey McGee.
He accepted Christ at an early age, often singing at different churches and events. He graduated from W. H. Adamson High School, class of '83, where he was a part of the Mighty Leopards football team. (Go Leopards!)
During his youth, he played football for the Beckley Saner Dragons. (Go Dragons!) Amazingly, many of the same players he played with then were those he played with in high school. They all remained loyal friends to this day.
Ocie "D.J. Slick Rick" McGee had a passion for music. He could sing it or play it—take your pick! He never met a mic that he did not like.
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, God needed another angel in His choir. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Ocie F. McGee Jr. (8/21/83) and Florine Dorsey McGee (4/2/24), and his baby sister, Paulette McGee (7/14/21).
He leaves to cherish his memories his only child, Ocie F. McGee IV (Ketravia) of LA; brother Jerry L. Dorsey (OK); sister LaRhonda McGee Alexander (Robert) of Dallas.
He is also survived by four grandchildren: Nevaeh (8), Kingston (6), Kam'Bri (4), and Princeton (2); two nieces, Monique and Nahla; four nephews, DeQuincy, D'Anthony, D'Marcus, and four great-nieces, Amya, Ny'lah, Na'Riyah, and Novah; and two great-nephews, D'Anthony Jr. and Tristan.
