Norma Elaine
Adkison
April 24, 1955 – July 11, 2018
Norma Elaine was born April 24, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Pastor Alonzo Adkison, Sr. and Leola Adkison. Her father, mother and two sisters, Dorothy and Brenda precede her in death.
Norma accepted Christ at an early age uniting with the Carver Heights Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Tyler Carter. She later united with A New Creation Church, where she served on the praise team under Pastor Michael Norman. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Higher Mark Church under Overseer Billy Adkison. She was a minister of the gospel and served on the praise team and also on the intercessory team.
Norma lived a committed and consecrated life before the Lord. The Lord often spoke to her concerning the Next Generation which was her passion. Her prayer was that they come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ and to be sold out to him and not be children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. –Eph 4:14
Norma graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School in Wilmer, Texas. She started her work career at Texas Instruments until she retired in 1993. A few years later she started a long career with Energy Future Holdings where she retired in 2016.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Brother, Alonzo (Melba) Billy (Renee) and Jimmy; Sisters, Deloris, Fay, Naomi; and Sherry; Nephews, Carlos, Sr., Eric, Brandon, Vondric, Torrance and Jared; Nieces, Christy, Tara and Ashley; great nephews, Akeenan, Carlos, Jr., Eric Michael, Evan and Emry; great nieces, Shagloria, Amber, Jasmine, Bria, Jiah, Kiara, Viantrinique and Deanna (Goddaughter); aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
