The Epitaph of Life

On Friday, February 11, 2022, Mother Vivian V. King-Haynes, loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and aunt passed away at the beautiful age of 87.

Mother Vivian V. King-Haynes was born on August 22, 1934, in Dallas, Texas to Henry and Jessie Mae (Hicks) King. Mother Vivian V. King-Haynes was born into a Christian home. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, Dallas, Tx, under the leadership of the late Reverend C. D. Knight.

Mother Hayes matriculated through the Dallas Independent School District with honors from Lincoln High School, graduating at age 16. Young Vivian completed her formal education at Prairie View A&M University receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education.

On October 26, 1955, she married the love of her life, the late Bishop J. Neaul Haynes and produced two beautiful daughters, the late Pia Susaye and Vrai Dawn.

Mother Vivian V. King-Haynes had a passion for collecting and making dolls. Her doll collection was admired by her friends and family.

She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

As a Pastor's Wife she met the demands of numerous challenges and was an asset to her husband's ministry; serving as an excellent First Lady in several different churches. As her husband was elevated to a Jurisdictional Bishop and inaugurated in the National Church to the General Board, she was up for the challenge.

Mother Vivian v. King-Haynes was most vivacious as the Jurisdictional First Lady of Texas Northeast First for four decades. She also served as an active member of the Executive Committee in the National Bishop's Wives Circle. She worked untiringly, fully supporting the work of the Lord and her husband. She was the epitome of a godly woman and wife. An anointed teacher of God's word with real life experiences; favoring Psalm 91 as one of her special scriptures that she called 911.

Her accomplishments are countless, but to name a few she was awarded the Pearl C. Anderson Woman of the Year Award by the Elite News of Dallas and The National Council of Negro Women. The Greater Trinity Chapter honored her as one of Dallas "Most Beautiful Women Inside and Out". In 2011 she was honored at the International Women's Convention in the Business and Professional Women's Federation First Awards Luncheon as a Leader/Educator.

Mother Vivian V. King-Haynes touched an uncountable number of lives sharing her wisdom, her love and giving of herself, and her monetary gifts without reservations. She leaves an indelible imprint on everyone that she touched. Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise Her in the gates.

Mother Vivian V. King-Haynes was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop J. Neaul Haynes; daughter, Pia Susaye Haynes-Williams; grand-nephew, Criston Deion King; father, Henry King; mother, Jessie Mae Hicks-King; and brother, Charles King.
