Mother Loddie
Delores Perry
September 8, 1934 – April 3, 2025
Our beloved Mrs. Loddie Perry has embarked on her final journey. On Thursday, April 3, 2025, she peacefully surrendered her life, and made that great transition to her eternal home - a glorious city we Christians know as Heaven.
Born on September 8, 1933, in our hometown of Henderson, Texas, she was raised by the late Edward and Lucy Thompson. She cultivated her knowledge, both in Henderson and Jacksonville, TX, before moving to Dallas, where she found the love of her life in the form of Mr. Connie Perry. Their love story was cemented in the sacred vows of matrimony, and from this union two beautiful souls - Edward Perry and Bonnie Kaye Perry, were born. Mrs. Perry was also a loving stepmother to Connie Ruth Perry and Robert Lee Perry. Mr. Connie, Bonnie, Connie Ruth and Robert Lee all preceded her in death
Mrs. Perry was a tireless worker and ensured her family's wellbeing before anything else, serving at the United Laboratories for several years. But her heart always lay in the betterment of society. Her activism and political engagement in the sixties and seventies in southern Dallas were truly noteworthy.
She was a woman of stupendous faith, accepting Christ at a young age, and becoming a cornerstone in our church community - the Carver Heights Missionary Baptist Church. She served since 1958 and was honored by our Pastor Daryl Carter as the "Mother of the Church", a title she held close to her heart.
While she has taken her bow and left the stage of life, Mrs. Perry's memories live on. Cherishing her unforgettable love are, her son Edward Perry of DeSoto, TX; her devoted daughter-in-law Patricia Perry of DeSoto, TX, sister Rosemary Yowman of Missouri City, TX, her church daughter Barbara Ely of DeSoto, TX; and let's not forget the innumerable relatives and friends who were touched by her kindness.
