Born on February 25, 2000, in Dallas, Texas, Monae Shuntae Johnson-Leatch was the first child of Melanie Leatch and Jerry Johnson. A graduate of Mesquite High School, she went on to pursue a Culinary Associate Degree at El Centro. Monae was a multi-talented individual who played softball, the drums, and was an active member of both the dance team and ROTC. She was baptized at Eastridge Park Congregational Methodist Church, where she participated in youth outings and mentoring groups. Known for her calm and personal nature, her favorite passions were cooking and listening to music. On May 10, 2026 Monae traded her earthly journey for a spiritual venture, leaving behind a masterpiece of memories for those who loved her most.
