Mitchell Cornelius James was born on December 2, 1943, in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, to Cornelius and Olga James. He later moved to New York and eventually settled in Dallas, Texas, where he met and married the love of his life, Carolyn Fisher James, in 1976.

A devoted member of the North DeSoto Church of Christ, Mitchell lived with a quiet faith that grounded his life and relationships.

Though Mitchell has left us, his spirit will live on in the laughter, love, and memories he leaves behind. He touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered as a man of integrity, humor, and deep love for his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Mitchell—forever cherished as Mitch, Pops, Dad, and Grandaddy.
