Obituary

Winnie Mae Dews was born on August 13, 1947 to the parentage of Reverend Med and Lera Bell Dews in Whitehouse, Texas. She graduated from Emmett Scott High School in 1966.

She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1968 where she joined Grace Chapel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop T. W. Johnson and Superintendent Nathaniel Green. While here she served as the Teenage Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Secretary and as the YPWW President.

She was employed at Texas Instrument for 27 years, Pillowtex for 5 years and Ratcliff Learning Center for 13 years until her health begin failing.

She was preceded in death by her father Reverend Med Dews, her mother Lera Bell Dews, 6 brothers Med Dews Jr., Calvin Dews, Alvin Dews, Elbert Dews, John Dews, Charles Dews, 3 sisters Barbara Jean Donaldson, Lera Mitchell and Martha Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories 2 daughters Stephanie Young Valentine (Anthony) and Staci Davis (Anthony), 4 grandchildren Anthony Valentine III, Samyra Valentine, Anton Valentine and Anthony Davis Jr, 2 brothers James Dews (Patricia) and Bonny Dews both of Tyler, Texas, 3 sisters Betty Young of Dallas, Texas, Deloris Dews and Linda Mitchell (Raydell) both of Tyler, Texas, 1 aunt Lorene Dews and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
