Missionary Blanche Garrett was born on May 19, 1926 to the parentage of Pearl Bell Robertson and John Bell, Sr. in Streetman, Texas.
She dedicated her life to Christ at the age of nine, when she moved to Dallas; she joined fellowship with Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in 1944. During this fellowship, sheheld multiple positions in the church including Sunday School Teacher, District Missionary, Church Mother and a Dynamic Easter Program Mistress of Ceremony and organizer for 30 years. She married Columbus Garrett, Sr. of Fairfield, Texas and to this union six children were born. She was employed as professional seamstress for over 25 years and enjoyed independent contract work making those fabulous handkerchiefs for herself, family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories: daughters, Frankie Garrett Heath and Shirley Garrett Fletcher; sons, Donald Garrett, Sr. and Columbus Garrett, Jr. (Cheryl); son in law, Eddie Fletcher, Sr.; sister, Esther Robertson Green (William) and a host of other relatives and friends.
