Mildred Dean Lister was born on March 6, 1939 in Marshall, Texas to Ida Mae and Sam Dean. She was educated in the Marshall Independent School System. She continued her education after graduating from Pemberton High School; she went to Wiley College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology.

In 1967, Mildred started her tenure as a Micro Biologist for the government with the Food and Drug Administration. She was employed with the FDA for 32 years and then retired.

Mildred met the love of her life Fred D. Lister and they united in Holy Matrimony on December 23, 1970. To this union one son was born. Fred was the love of Mildred's life and she often relished the memories the two of them shared.

Mildred always loved to coordinate events for her Pemberton High School and Wiley College Alumni. Mildred was active in her Neighborhood Watch and served at her Voting Precinct during all election activities.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Fred Lister, parents Ida Mae & Sam Dean.

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy : Son: Clay Lister (Debra)of Arlington, Texas; 2 Grandsons: Clay Lister, II of Arlington, Texas and Christopher J. Lister of Fort Worth, Texas; Sister: Erma J. Dawson of Rochester, New York; 2 Great Grandchildren: Christopher T. R. Lister and Jasmine D. Y. Lister; niece, nephew, other relatives and friends.
