Mildred Faye Carter was born May 21, 1932 in Beckville TX to Buford Booty and Pearl Hicks. Mildred Fay Carter married Arttice Wendall Carter on 06/30/1951. To this union of 61 years they produced three loving children: Patricia, Steven and Teresa. Mrs. Carter was better known as Faye to family and friends.

Faye furthered her education by attending business college and ultimately obtained her cosmetology license through the state of California. From this education she successfully branched into starting "Faye's Magic Cut-n-Curl" She dedicated 51 years of her life to erecting the business. Mrs. Carter loved her family, friends and clients and they loved her back. Mrs. Carter was a respected member of the community. Her church home was Judson Baptist Church in Carson, CA. under the leadership of Pastor Johnny V. Baylor.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Buford Booty and Pearl Hicks; her husband, Arttice Wendall Carter; and son, Steven Andrea Carter.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters: Patricia Ann Carter Gray Johnson (Jeremiah) and Teresa Carter Jordan Littleton (Nathan); Grandghildren, Brandie Nicole Gray, Monique Andrea Carter, Ebony Tawny Gray and McKinley Obadiah Jordan IV; brother, Eugene Booty; sister, Lenora Booty Trimble and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
