Obituary

Michael Moore was born on February 12, 1956, in Houston, TX. He attended South Oak Cliff High School, graduating in 1975 as one of their star football players. He furthered his education by attending El Centro College and University of North Texas in Denton, majoring in political science and history. Michael met Pamela Watson on a charter bus going to a South Oak Cliff High School basketball game in College Station in 1976 and later united in marriage.

Michael grew up on Kushla Avenue in the South Oak Cliff / Glendale area of Dallas, TX, in an era when children spent most of their time outside playing. Kushla Avenue was teeming with children from nearly every house on the block, all within the same age group. The kids of Kushla Avenue became like family,
Michael dedicated over 35 years to his career as a truck driver and later became independent in logistics. He demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his work.
Michael had a deep passion for sports, fishing, working on cars, and most of all, spending quality time with his family. His love of sports inspired him to coach little league basketball and football that spanned over 35 years. He freely shared his talents and services mentoring children who could not afford camp, recruiting volunteers along the way.

For four years, Michael ran The Michael Moore Football Camp, driven by a deep desire to give back to the community. The youth looked up to him not just as a coach, but as a father figure, learning new skills, building confidence and self esteem. His camp became a place where the lessons of teamwork, structure and discipline were learned. They were taught life lessons on and off the field. He was passionate about helping people, never missing an opportunity to befriend someone. Michael was loyal to his friends, sharing his knowledge and giving advice at every opportunity. As a role model, through the years, he made a difference and impact in so many lives. He looked forward to fishing everyday during retirement. Michael invested his talents in his family, friends and the community. He believed that his true reward would come in Heaven.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Oral and Mary Moore; two sisters, Ora Mae Lott and Veronica Moore; his Granny, Jennie B. Kilgrore; and his father-in-law, Nathaniel P. Watson.

Michael's memories will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Pamela Moore; one son, Michael Watson Moore (Crystal); one daughter, Sydney Moore; his beloved mother-n-law, Eva Mae Watson; six grandchildren, Janiah Bradford, Nyomie Moore, Adrianna Moore, Michael Moore lll, Michelle Moore, and Summer Robinson; four sisters, Shirley Ross, Enola Dawson (Kenneth), Teresa Adams (Carver), and Stephanie Thompson; one brother, Gerald Dawson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
