Obituary

Michael G. Dickerson, 70, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on March 1, 2024. Michael was born on January 19, 1954 to Mattie Dickerson. After graduating from South Oak Cliff High School in 1972, he joined the US Army. After he served his country, he went on to pursue his passion in radio and facility services. He spent over 12 years on KKDA KNON Soul 73 as radio personality aka Magical Mike. He spent 15 years working in Dallas-ISD, and was respected for his hard work, dedication, and expertise.

At a young age, Michael developed a fascination and love for radio which lasted his whole life. Michael loved music and disc jockey, especially blues. You could often hear him saying Facebook hating on the Magic Man. He always had a cassette tape ready to let any and every one hear his voice and skills. In his last few years of life, he had learned to go live and DJ his on social media, especially Facebook.

Michael belonged to Faithful Believer's Baptist Church under leadership of Reverend Walter Johnson Jr. Michael was a faithful member serving on the media and sound ministry.

Michael met the love of his life, Diana, and they were married for 18 wonderful years before her death. They were blessed with 2 children whom they loved and adored. Michael, later married Kimberly Dickerson, whom proceeded him in death. Michael was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a man of integrity, always putting his family's needs above his own. Michael had a love for disc jokey and enjoyed playing dominoes and family in his free time. He was known for his infectious laughter, his kind heart, and his willingness to help others. He was proceeded in death by his mom, Mattie Dickerson, his brother Ernest Dickerson. He is survived by his children DeMarcus Kelley and DMarlo Dickerson, his grandchildren Ambrea Dickerson, Xavier Garrett, Javien Garrett, great granddaughter, Brooklynn Garrett, his siblings Sandra Brown, Ronnie Dickerson (Debra), Roderick Dickerson Sr (Pam), Dmitris McCright, Dan Paul Tucker, Connie Tucker and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
