On February 5, 1958, there was a very special
event, one that through the course of time would
change my life. My friend, my husband, the love of my
life, Michael "Mike" was born in Dallas, Texas. In
1976, he graduated from Lincoln High School and
upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Army. During
his time in the military, he served in Fort Polk,
Louisiana and in Seoul, South Korea. After his tour
of duty was over, he returned to Dallas and
continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mike was employed by the U.S. Postal Service
for over 28 years. In 1986, Mike met Jacklin Brown
and they were married the next year. The two were
blessed with over 34 years of love and marriage. He
was so happy and proud to be the father of two
beautiful girls, Amanda Gail and Morgan Alley who
went on to be with the Lord.
Mike loved his family, fishing, traveling and
talking to people. He rarely met a stranger. Mike's
family loved him as he loved them. Those remaining
to cherish his memories include: his wife, Jacklin;
his mother, Geraldine Johnson; father, Sherman
Davis; brothers: Rickey, Tommy, and Alonzo
Barrance; Stanley Barrance (proceded him in
death); aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends
