Michael Leonard
Andrews, Sr.
September 19, 1965 – January 25, 2026
Michael Andrews was born on September 19, 1965, to Beatrice Owens and Larry Britton. Arthur and Beatrice Andrews raised Michael in Dallas, where he received his education through the Dallas Independent School District. Michael attended JJ Rhoades and Mark Twain Elementary Schools, Atwell Middle School, and David W. Carter High School, where he was a proud member of the Class of 1984.
During his formative years, he developed a strong appreciation for athletics, particularly football and basketball, which he played throughout junior high and high school. Sports were an important part of his upbringing and helped shape his character.
Michael began his professional career at Central Freight, working on the dock where his dedication and strong work ethic were quickly recognized. He later earned his Commercial Driver's License and embarked on a career in cross-country trucking. With nearly 35 years in the trucking industry, Michael built a respected and accomplished career. He went on to become an owner-operator, proudly owning and operating his own truck, and earned the distinguished honor of membership in the Million Mile Truckers Club, reflecting his commitment, professionalism, and excellence.
Affectionately known as "Big Mike" and "TK," Michael was a man whose presence was unmistakable. He never met a stranger, and his spirit filled every room he entered. Known for his warmth, humor, and engaging personality, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. He valued fellowship, loved to dance, and some of his best days were spent in the garage with his friends working on building motors for fast cars.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son Michael Andrews II (Stephanie), his devoted mother Beatrice Andrews, his siblings Sholor, Zinia, and Arthur Ray Andrews II, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
