Maxine B.
Hamilton
November 10, 1935 – May 13, 2021
On Thursday evening May 13th, 2021, God the Father called his daughter Evangelist Maxine Hamilton home to Heavenly Glory. Maxine has finished all her tasks and is resting peacefully.
She committed her life to Christ as a child at the New Caledonia Baptist Church in Rockwall Texas and throughout her life the Word of God was always a driving force within her. She was a member of several churches in Dallas including Hopewell Baptist, Highland Hills Presbyterian, Full Gospel Baptist, and Jordan Missionary Baptist. Later in life, she served the Lord as an evangelist and speaker with membership at Glad Tidings Church, Crossroads of Life Assembly of God, and Abundance of Grace C.O.G.I.C, before returning to Jordan Missionary.
Maxine's cheerful disposition and resounding faith in God provided a beacon of light and ray of hope to all who knew and loved her. Within a few minutes of meeting her, one could firmly discern her service to the Lord, that she was a wonderful wife and mother, and that she was a determined person who attained results.
She was born to Morris and Erma Lee Brannon on November 10th, 1935. She met and married Cornelius A Hamilton on October 15, 1950, and together this union bore 6 children: Beverly (Felix Cole), Vicki, Lesley (Janice), Micheal, Pamela (Carl Brown), and Benita (Byron Collins).
As the family matriarch, she raised her family as Christians. She also held numerous jobs outside the home working as an assembly worker at Texas Instruments and retiring from the Wilmer-Hutchins School District Administration Office as a records administrator. She served on several school and Community committees and was named the president of the Parent-Teacher Association at Bishop Heights Elementary and later at John Kennedy High. She served as president of the Jordan Missionary Baptist Senior Choir and was the primary musician at Glad Tidings Church.
Maxine has gone home to reunite with her soulmate Cornelius who she was married to for 66 years. She will visit with her parents Morris and Erma Lee, siblings Catherine, Willie Marie, Obed, and Lee H, along with brothers Thomas and Forrest.
She leaves to cherish, siblings Morris Lee, Itasca, James, Marvin, and Marilyn. And to love, her 6 children, 3 sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and hosts of nieces, nephews, and friends.
