Obituary

Julian Cortland Jones was born August 26, 1982 in Plano, TX to Rickey Jones and Maria Baldwin. As a child, Julian was an incredible athlete and a straight A student.  At the age of 9, Julian was invited to the school for the talented and gifted. Unable to be separated from his siblings he couldn't attend but continued to excel in school and after graduating he received a scholarship to Northwestern State University in Louisiana for track and field.

After some time in college, he felt the pull to service and enlisted in the United States Army, and in 2006 he finished his basic training and became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. Master Sergeant Julian C. Jones served his country well, experiencing and facing every challenge and all the dangers with courage, commitment and a determination that could not be derailed.  At a young age, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  Because of his service to our country, he spent more time on the battlefield that in the pews, but no matter where he went, God was with him.

Julian fell in love with the outdoors and both his father and mother's joy of fishing. Julian and his 2 sisters, Aerielle and Candice, grew up experiencing the great outdoors and spent most of their childhood fishing. As an adult, Julian grew to find peace and comfort in being on the lake, banks of ponds, creeks or wherever his heart took him. When he wasn't fishing he was an avid online gamer which he shared with his brothers and enjoyed giving them a good beating every once in a while.  But his love for fishing and video games was never greater than his love for his children, Julian Jones Jr. and Anala Jones.

Although he left this life much too soon, his spirit and memory will continue to live one in those he loved and who loved him.

Romans 14:9 - For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Master Sergeant Jones is survived by his wife Crystal, (Keyanna, Brandian, Joseph and Jeremiah) his children: Julian and Anala Jones (Latice Kovacs) His parents, Rickey (Allison) Jones and Maria Baldwin: his siblings, Aerielle, Candice, Keenan, Khalil, Quincy, and Rickey Jr.; his niece, Anaya; his nephew, Maxwell and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and his fellow soldiers in the United States Army.
