born on October 18, 1947, In Florence County South Carolina to Mary and Deward Wilson. Mary affectionately known as " TOY", was the fourth child of eleven born unto this union. Mary attended Battery Park School, where she received her formal education. In 1965, Mary moved to Philadelphia with her family. She continued to pursue her passion for fashion and cosmetology. She attended and graduated from John Robert Powell Modeling School. Mary worked for McGraw Hill Publishing Co. in the 1970's.
During that time Mary traveled the world to many different countries including. Japan, Africa, China, Italy, Venezuela, The Philippines, Rome and more. She also enjoyed taking cruises with her family especially her sweet sister Ann. Mary lived her life to the fullest. In 1980 Mary made Dallas Texas her home. She joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and served faithfully on the # 4 Usher Board, until she became ill in 2019.
Mary was employed at the Anatole Hotel, for 38 years, where she was well loved by her Anatole family. Mary retired at the age of 71.
Mary became ill shortly after retirement. She was always surrounded by the love and care of her family. She received special care from her two faithful sisters Pat and Ann, both day and night.
Mary will be remembered for her beautiful heart and words of encouragement that she shared with so many through cards, notes and spiritual books, especially the young folks. Mary ended all of her conversations both written and verbal with her favorite scripture Numbers 6:24-26 'The Lord Bless Thee and Keep Thee'.
Mary loved shouting and praising the Lord! Family that preceded Mary in death, her parents Mary and Deward Wilson. Her two sisters Linda Wilson and Gloria Jarman, and one brother Deward Wilson Jr.
Mary leaves to cherish her memories, five sisters. Sarah Hugee, Helen and Erin Hatchett, Patricia Wilson, Katrenna Wilson, Awanda and Willard Fairweather. Two brothers, Archie Wilson, Herny and Lelina Wilson, aunts and uncles. Goddaughter Phyllicia Knight and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to nephews Archie Wilson Jr. and niece LaToya Pierre.
