Obituary

Mary Louise Morgan was born May 8, 1945, in Waco, Texas to the parentage of Wilmer Bill Morgan and Nettie Mae Benson.

She graduated from James Madison High School in 1963 and attended El Centro College.

Mary started working for Dallas Independent School District on October 1, 2001, and retired in August 2015 from James Madison High School. Mary worked for James Madison High School as the counselor's Secretary and served as a teacher's assistant. Mary served as the Parent Teacher Association President of James Madison from 1984-1992. She was the President of James Madison Alumni from 1990-2005.

During the time Mary worked at James Madison High School, she was an inspiring driven advocate for students and the community. She was passionate about the well-being of the community and worked to promote positive change.

Mary worked for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas from 2012-2023 and retired as a Site Coordinator. Mary served many students, staff members, families, and churches throughout the South Dallas community. Mary was often called the "Mayor of South Dallas" because she was known as a person who could get things done.

Mary Louise Morgan was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary loved her family and her students. Always had a positive attitude with uplifting advice that was golden. Her favorite quote was, "This too shall pass". She never met a stranger, and she was always willing to assist to improve the lives of others. Anytime you received a food basket at your door, without a doubt it was sent to her nieces that called her, "Aunt Bae".

Mary is preceded in death by her parents: Wilmer Bill Morgan and Nettie Mae Benson. Sister: Martha Jane Edwards and Daughter in Law: Kimbra Morgan.

Mary leaves to cherish memories and continue her legacy of love: Son Kevin Morgan (Dallas, TX) Three grandchildren: Kemon Tipps, Kayla Morgan, and Kyra Morgan. Three great-grandchildren: Phoenix Brice, Kaiden Morgan, Kysen Harvey. One sister: Shirley Hickey Dallas, TX and One Brother: Wilmer Lee Morgan, Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
