Mary Frances Lewis or Fran as she preferred to be called was born on December 23, 1936 and is the second of four children born to the union of Statchel Lee and Fannie (Gates) Jackson Sr. She was baptized at the El Bethel Baptist Church by Reverend B.B. Neal. She later joined Hopewell Baptist Church and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Fran reunited with New El Bethel Baptist Church, under the pastorage of Rev V. L. Warren upon his passing, Dr. Timothy Brown became her pastor, teacher, minister, her shepherd.
Fran was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, Brother, both Sisters and Son Michael Lewis, along with very special Aunt and guardian Mrs. Armelia Reed. lovingly referred to as Aunt Doe.
Fran attended N.W. Harlee Junior High School and graduated from Lincoln High School. After graduation, Fran attended Paul Quinn College on a musical scholarship. She then went on to marry Charlie B Lewis in September of 1955. Born to that union were their 3 children, Michael, Chaunda and Saundra Lewis.
Fran worked at Texas Instruments for 18 ½ years in various positions and later worked at National Semiconductor as a Physical Design Specialist, Intellectual Property Administrator and Custodian of all Data backups and retired in November of 1999.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Chaunda R. Lewis, Saundra K. Lewis. Her three grandchildren Kendrick Lewis (Shondell), Keaundra Washington (Perry) and Kenilah Izaguirre (Reymundo Sr.), her seven great-grandchildren, Kaiya Turner, Reymundo Izaguirre Jr., Brenden Ross, Kerri Washington, Peyton Washington, Ke'Bralah Lewis and Hadlee Gray. Two great-great grandchildren Diora and Karter Mosley. Four nieces, three nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
She leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memory.
