Mary Sweat Garrett, devoted wife and mother, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at age 78, surrounded by family.

Born in Big Sandy, Texas on April 21, 1947 to Earnest and Flora Sweat (preceded in death), she is survived by her husband Joe Garrett, her daughters Anita Flowers (Johnny), Tina Jones (Bernard), Tanya Armstead, grandchildren, Bernard (Chris) Jackson (Shanna), Kevya Wilson, Brandon Richardson, Ashaunti Richardson, Sa'Keena Armstead, Tiana Richardson, Alexssa Armstead, Franklin Armstead, Ayden Armstead, her brothers and sisters, Earnest Sweat Jr., Flora Whitaker (David), Juanita Brown, Shirley Hill (Glen), Vernon Sweat (preceded in death), Annie Watkins, Estelle Nealy (Billy), Brenda Barrett (Timothy), Gary Sweat (Diane), and other family members.

Remembered for her kindness, strength, and warmth. She will be dearly missed.
