Mary Ola Brown after, 69 years, "dozed into Eternal slumber" Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was born to the late Rudolph ("Raurtha") Malone, and Elouise Jones, December 30, 1948, in Oakwood, TX. Mary graduated from L. G. Pinkston High School in 1967. She married Willie Brown in 2006, and they lived together in Duncanville, TX.
Mary worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years until she retired in 2010. After retirement, she was a full-time, devoted wife and mother, raising her granddaughter, Gracie. Mary was a member of Friendship West Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, listening to music, shopping, playing Pokeno, watching British t.v. and old movies, interior decorating, and traveling vicariously through her best friend Cathy Jones (Dwayne) and daughter, Neecy.
Mary is survived by her husband, Willie Brown; her mother, Elouise Jones; a brother Ralph Jackson (Marsha); six children: Erika Robinson, Monique "Neecy" Broadnax (Duane), Shaunta Brown, Leandra Brown, Staci Brundage, and Divonte' Brown; six grandchildren: Grace Robinson, Anzhane' Hutton, D'Anthony Hutton, Tiara Price, TaeVion Brown, and Malachi Broadnax; a niece, Cassandra McFail; mother-in-law, Ivey Jackson; brothers-in-law: Kelvin Brown, Felix Brown (Sherry), Eric Brown (Cassandra), and Christopher Brown; sisters-in-law: Toni Smith, Cheryl Brown, Darlene Johnson, and Drenette Anderson (Julius); extended family: Cathy Jones (Dwayne) and her daughters Catrina Shead (Corey), Dwayna Jones (Rex), and Casandra Jones; Demetra Robinson and her daughter Jasmine Robinson; and a host of aunts, cousins and close friends, including special friend Jamie Holis.
The Twilight Celebration is 6:30-9pm today at Deliverance Outreach Prayer Center, 1003 S. Cockrell Hill Rd. Duncanville, TX. The Sacred Farewell for Mrs. Brown will commence 11am Friday at Friendship West Baptist Church, 2020 W. Wheatland Rd, Dallas, TX.
