MarVitta R. Kimbrough, affectionately known as “Vitta,” was born on May 28, 1988, in Dallas, Texas, to Pamela Cox and Marvin Kimbrough. She was also blessed with the love and support of her stepfather, Brenton Willis.

At an early age, Vitta gave her life to Christ at Fountain of Living Word in Dallas, Texas. Her favorite Scripture was Psalm 23, which begins, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Her faith remained an important part of her life’s journey.

Vitta attended David W. Carter High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 2006. She later began a career as a life insurance agent, where her natural ability to connect with people allowed her to help individuals and families prepare for their futures.

Vitta was witty, intelligent, down-to-earth, and truly one of a kind—or, as she would say, “One of One.” She loved meeting people and always made sure everyone around her was good. Her genuine concern for others, unforgettable sense of humor, and welcoming spirit made people feel comfortable and loved.

Vitta enjoyed sports, dancing, music, art, and cooking. She was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who proudly cheered for her team through every season. Whether she was dancing to her favorite song, preparing something delicious in the kitchen, enjoying sports, creating art, or simply making everyone laugh with her signature saying, “Oooo child!”, Vitta brought life, laughter, and joy wherever she went.

On August 17, 2026, at the age of 38, Vitta completed her earthly journey and entered eternal rest.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Edna Simpson and Bertha Ewing; her grandfather, Willie Lee Cox; her aunt, Lena Faye Curlin; and her cousins, Monica Polk and Shelia Cox.

Vitta leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving mother, Pamela Cox; her father, Marvin Kimbrough; her stepfather, Brenton Willis; her brother, Joel Bradley; her grandmother, Carolyn Cox; her aunts, Shenika Nelson, LaTrilla Cox and Paulette Cox; her uncles, Christopher Cox, Donald Cox, Bradley Rodgers, and Brian Cox; along with many cousins, extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched.

Although Vitta’s final season on earth has ended, her beautiful spirit will continue to live through every person she loved. Her laughter will still echo in precious memories, her love will remain in countless hearts, and her unforgettable personality will never fade.

Vitta was witty, loving, gifted, and undeniably “One of One.”
