Marvin Louis Steele was born in Dallas, Texas on May 25, 1954 to the parents of the late Rev. Jesse R. Steele and Mrs. Laura (Jones) Steele.
He professed his faith and was baptized as a Christian at an early age at the Lone Star Baptist Church, Kaufman, TX.
Marvin received his formal education in DISD and was a graduate of South Oak Cliff Class of 1972.
His love for music and singing was noted at an early age. He loved singing in the choir to the glory of God. Marvin signature song was "Standing On the Promises".
He retired from Dallas Water Utilities, Distribution Division after 15 years of service due to failing health.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Rev. and Mrs. Jesse R. (Laura) Steele and one brother Jesse E. Steele.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 28 years Cecelia Anderson-Steele; two sons: LaMarvin Steele and Kamian Steele; one brother: Alvin Steele (Carolyn); three grandchildren: Hezakyah Steele, Layla Steele and Victoria Steele; two god daughters: Dr. Porcha Anderson and Kenneday Williams; one god son; Christian Williams; two aunts: Mrs. Frances Jones and Mrs. Virginia Clemmons; father-in-law, Mr. Frank Anderson, mother-in-law, Minister Martha Anderson of Gurdon, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
