Marvin Louis Hodge was born October 2, 1954 to the parentage of the late Roscoe Hughes Sr. and Lucile Rose Hodge. Marvin received his education from Jefferson High School Marion County in 1973. He was baptized at an early age at Logan Chapel A.M.E. under membership. He later moved to Dallas, Texas.
Marvin retired after 18 years from Texas Instrument in Richardson, Texas. He was a people person with jokes and laughter. He enjoyed his family and the joy of his grandchildren. He enjoyed just hanging out with his brothers.
His memories will forever be cherished by his four daughters, Kimesha Elliott (Howard) of Dallas, Texas, Marcelle Bennett (Charles) of Dallas, Texas, Ebony Brooks Arterberry (Joseph) of Desoto, Texas and Knykioa Brooks of Mansfield, Texas; six grandchildren, Jasmine Bennett, Jordynn Simpson, Mia Coleman, Chirtoam (Omar) Simpson, Taveyin Davenport and Dhamiyeh Smith, one great grandson, Aidan Bennett. Marvin was one of twenty two children.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Alice Tyler, Ruth Etta Roberson and Pauline Adams; two brothers, Roscoe Hodge Jr. and Johnny Ray Hodge. He leaves to mourn five brothers, Frank Hodge (Shirley) of Lodi, Texas, Tommie Lee Hodge (Christine) of Jefferson, Texas, James, Glen Hodge of Dallas, Texas and Herbert of Lancaster, Texas; nine sisters, Evelyn Russell of Dallas, Texas, Nadean Love (Henry) of Lodi, Texas, Sandra Mundy of Lancaster, Texas, Dorothy Hodge of Dallas, Texas, Sarah Childs of Forest Hills, Texas, Carolyn Stephens of Lancaster, Texas, Barbara Henderson (Otis) of Dallas, Texas, Lois Harris (Arthur) of Kellyville, Texas, Linder Love (Alex) of Lancaster, Texas. Marvin leaves special nephews, nieces, relatives and many, many friends. Also, a dear friend Ms. Nancy Lucky.
