Obituary

Marlon D. Turner, Sr. was born to Fred E. Turner and Valmer Willis Turner on October 27, 1972, in Cherokee County, Jacksonville, Texas. His family later moved to Dallas from Rusk , Texas in 1975.

Marlon was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from Skyline High School Class of 1991. Upon graduation Marlon went on to serve our country by joining the US Navy. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the US Navy Marlon began his career at Eastman Kodak, and then moved on to Southwestern Bell (AT&T) where he worked for over 20 years.

Marlon joined and was a member of Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas.

Marlon was a true people person with a huge personality and heart. He was at his best when he was with friends and family. Marlon enjoyed football, especially high school and college football. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. One of his favorite past times was spent cooking and watching the Food Network.

Marlon transitioned peacefully from this earthly life the morning of October 15, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Marlon D. Turner, Jr. which he was extremely proud of and his accomplishments as a US Army soldier.

Marlon leaves to cherish his memories a loving fiancé' Donna Cox; two children, Breanna Turner of Triangle, VA and Morgan Turner of Dallas, Texas; one bonus son, Dorian Morris; both parents, Fred E. Turner and Valmer Willis Turner; one brother, Dedrick Turner (Nina); one grandmother, Mattie Willis; three nephews, Nathaniel Turner, Devan Turner, and Dylan Turner; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
