Mark Antoine
Thompson
February 9, 1959 – August 16, 2022
Mark Antoine Thompson cherished memories began February 9, 1959 to his parents Arthur and Virgina Thompson
in Dallas, Texas.
Mark accepted Christ at an early age at City of Refuge Church of God in Christ, where he served as a member and
the choir. He attended school in Dallas and graduated from Wilmer Hutchins HS, "Hutch", class of 77'. Shortly
after Mark joined the U.S. Army, serving 2 enlistments as well as the Army Reserves. Mark later began his career
at the VA Dallas Medical Center in Volunteer Scvs., known to many as "Valet" for over 25 years until his transition
recently at the VA. He earned numerous awards and recognitions for the employee that he was and if you were a
Veteran or employee, Mark's friendly smile and personality was the first you most likely would encounter upon
arrival to the VA. Friend to everyone...stranger to none. He truly etched his life into the hallways of the VA Hospital
Dallas. From the patients, the volunteers and staff...Mark was Loved. He was a true Dallas Cowboy fan and loved
the game of football but when the boyz lost...HILARIOUS & the coach is fired!!!
He leaves to cherish his memories, Mark Antoine Thompson II(Tu-Tu), Consuela Renee Russell, Mya Ja'Nae
Thompson and Mariha Ta'Nae Thompson. His Grandchildren Amarion, Kenyon and Marley Thompson. His
Sister Mia Thompson Vactor (Andre) and his " Angel Love" on earth, Paula (Pam) Hicks and a very Loving Host
of Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. When they all get together...Oh what a TIME! Especially in East Texas. His Lifelong
Dearest Friend since the age of 5... Nate.
Mark was also Blessed to be a father figure to Isaiah Hicks, the Cook's Family, his daughter, Deanna Cook(deceased)
and Father/Grandfather to the Wilson Family, Thomesha(Suzy), Ardresha(Sally), Ta'Darien and Aayden. He would
always be so proud of his B-day Dinners with them.
Loved by many, Mark will truly be missed in our hearts at the VA Dallas, Bonham and Ft. Worth
