Obituary

Margaret Louise Dick bounced into this earthly life on March 22, 1943 to the parentage of Milton Wesley Sr. & Bertha L. Wesley. She was one of six children, born in Athens, TX and raised in sunny South Dallas. Margaret accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was a proud member of Bethel A.M.E. church. She graduated from Lincoln High School in and decided to further her education at Eastfield College where she obtained her LVN. She worked in the nursing field caring for the ill and most vulnerable. Margaret also owned and directed two daycare centers, and had her home licensed throughout the years, as she nurtured numerous children that she considered her own. Margaret never met a stranger and never used the word NO, she truly fulfilled her calling of being an "angel on earth".
She loved to dance, gambling, take care of her family, cook (those 7-UP cakes and her dressing were a blessing from God), shop of course, she is known by name in most stores in the DeSoto area, and staying up all night talking on the phone to Ms. Jimmie.
Margaret married Oscar Spead in 1959 and to that union 3 children were born; Tony, Sharon and Cynthia. Later in life, on August 29, 1981 she married George Dick and they remained a loving couple of almost 40 years until she transitioned.
Margaret departed this earthly life on August 6, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Wesley and Bertha Holland; daughter, Cynthia Spead; sister, Geraldine Clark and great-grandson, Terrance Spead Jr.
