Grace was in her steps, Heaven in her eyes, in every Gesture, Dignity and Love. On November 6, 2021, God sent his angels to escort Mrs. Lynn Esther Bradshaw home to her eternal rest.
SHE WAS BORN: Lynn Esther Bradshaw was born on March 17, 1959 in Dallas, Texas. She was the fifth of seven children born to the late Rev. Robert & Joyce Hodge. Lynn was a QUEEN full of love and compassion who touched countless hearts and lives far beyond her reach. She was truly an ANGEL.
SHE WAS LOVED: Lynn Esther was united in marriage to Rev. Horace Paul Bradshaw IV on her 20th birthday March 17, 1979. From this union, they were blessed with three children; Horace Paul Bradshaw V, Robert MacChatson Bradshaw, and LeDaniel Elijah Bradshaw. Lynn was a devoted mother who loved her children dearly. Lynn's unconditional love was evident through her words, actions, and deeds -- A LOVE THAT WILL LIVE ON WITHIN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
SHE LIVED: Lynn Esther received her formal education through the Dallas Independent School District attending Sarah Zumwalt Middle School and graduating from South Oak Cliff High School in 1977. While attending SOC, she was a member of the marching band, a reliable student administrator, and voted Most Intellectual of her Senior Class.
SHE SERVED: Lynn Esther began her employment at the Good Street Daycare as a Bookkeeper. She continued her employment with the Mobil Oil Corporation for 11 years, Director of the Community of Faith Project 75216 for 13 years, DART Paratransit as a driver for 5 years, Good Street Baptist Church as the Church Clerk for 6 years, and Director of the Dallas County Senior Program at Good Street Baptist Church for 6 years. Lynn was a faithful servant who labored continuously. She served in the Early Childhood Ministry, Red Circle Girls, Girl Scouts, Ambassadors Choir, BTU, Garden Club, Minister's Wives, and a DISD Volunteer. Lynn loved the Lord and always lived an admirable and God-fearing life. She remained committed to live life to the fullest and despite her illness she never complained.
SHE EMBRACED: Lynn Esther was a person who truly lived for her family. As the Queen Mother of her family, Lynn instilled love, happiness, integrity, forgiveness, and gratitude in their hearts. She thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings and NEVER missed anything. Her favorite pastime was traveling, having new experiences, and the Hodge Family Dinner which took place every Thursday for 30 years. She showed love and kindness to all who were blessed to be in her presence. Lynn was known to be humble, easy-going, and was not hard to please. Lynn has a special place in her heart for her 8 grandchildren, 4 god-children, nieces, nephews, and extended sons and daughters. When it came to the lives of her children, grandchildren, and family members, she was very active and supported all activities and momentous occasions. Lynn was a friend and confidante to all who needed love and a listening ear. She had a way of making everyone feel special and was the person to go to for prayer, advice, and all things lost.
WE MOURN: Lynn Esther is proceeded in death by her parents, Rev. Robert & Joyce Hodge & Nephew Alcides Scott. She leaves to cherish her memory husband of 42 years Horace Paul Bradshaw IV, three (3) children; Horace Paul Bradshaw V (Tiffany), Robert MacChatson Bradshaw, and LeDaniel Elijah Bradshaw (Whitney). Eight (8) grandchildren Robert Bradshaw Jr., Ivan Bradshaw, Horace Bradshaw VI, Ta'Aliyah Bradshaw, Kayla Bradshaw, Alexander Bradshaw, Abigail Bradshaw, Preston Bradshaw, and one miracle on the way. Six (6) siblings; Walter C. Hodge (Phyllis), Deborah J. Hodge Hailey (Kenneth), Gwendolyn M. Hodge, Roberta J. Hodge Davis, Robert C. Hodge Jr. (Kathie), and Mac P. Hodge (Deloris). Nieces Crystal Davis, Joycelyn Davis, Ciara Bradshaw, Tiara Bradshaw, and Myra Snell. Nephews Marques Allen, Claude Bradshaw Jr., Marquis Hodge, Kevin Reese, & Chad Reese. Great Nephews Dondravian Roberson, Octavius Hodge, Jadarian Hodge & Marques Allen Jr. God-Children Savitri Lawson, Elvon Williams, Ty'ranesha McGee, Oakaresha Jones, and a host of other relatives, extended family, and friends.
