Life Reflections
Lucien Bruce was born to the late Houston Alfred and Edith Bruce on July 6, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana. During their marriage, they were privilege to produce ten sons, Lucien, Houston Jr., Major, James, Larry, Dennis, Kevin Crowden, Bobby, and Kenneth in which Lucien was the oldest.
Lucien graduated from Joseph S. Clark Senior High School of New Orleans in 1970 and completed 2 years of college. After graduating, Lucien began working at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as a Draftsman for 17 ½ years before his disability.
Lucien married Gloria Smith Patterson in 1989. Through their marriage, he gained two children, Donna Myles, and Willie Smith Jr.
After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Lucien and Gloria relocated to Dallas, Texas. Lucien was a faithful member of Praise Temple Evangelistic Church under the leadership of Bishop Terence and Pastor Regina Burrell where he served as a Deacon.
Lucien leaves to celebrate his memories: his wife, Gloria Bruce, a daughter, Donna Myles (Christopher) of Dallas Texas, a son, Willie Smith Jr. (Johnnell) of Ft. Worth Texas, four grandchildren, Leon (Khandis), Jeremy (Patricia), Larry (Apryl) and Ayden, seven great grandchildren, Jaylah, Maddison, Isaiah, Adairean, Landen, Aubrie and Khaedence, two brothers, Larry Bruce (Val), Houston Jr. known as Duke, two God-daughters Saniyyah Nunnery and Vanassa Humphrey (Tommy), a very special sister-in-law, Rosemary McDoneal, a special classmate Karl Dennis, a sports buddy Helen Lowe and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
