Lola M. Asson was born February 3,1940 to Etta J. Blue and Andrew Speller in Mt. Pleasant N.Y. Lola is affectionally called "Nanny" by her family. She is a mother, grandmother, great grandmother,sister, aunt, licensed nurse and ordained elder.
Lola was educated in the New Rochelle school system and graduated from the Mount Vernon school of Nursing. She started her Ministry in Mount Vernon, New York at Little Friendship Baptist Church. Apart of many church clubs and boards.


Lola moved to Texas in 2000 where she joined the Living Word F.W Baptist church under Bishop Ralph Williams. In 2012 she became a member of Antioch F.M.B church under Pastor K.D.Wesley where she was a active member of the Senior Saints choir and the Sister's ministry until her death.Lola had a passionate prayer life for the kingdom of God. She didn't mind shutting in a church or going to the islands and praying on the ground. Lola enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting and online shopping

Lola was preceded in death by husband Carlton C. Asson, her parents, 1 brother David L. Murchinson, aunts and uncles. She's loving remembered by her children Melinda Blue of Dallas,Tx, Mark A. Blue Sr. of Mt.Vernon N.Y., James E.(Mayleene)Carruthers of Plainfield N.J. and Jenniffer E.Carruthers of Mt.Vernon. Her grandchildren Richard A. Blue, E.Dorian Blue-Reed, Mark A. Blue Jr., Jaleel A. Carruthers, Shonda M. Carruthers, Malik R. Carruthers,Tamil R. Ambursley, Shaimeek R. Ambursley, Laila M. Hylton, Latrell M. Hylton, Tyler J. Ambursley, Admyha M. Carruthers, Annabella A. Carruthers, Malachi M. Dixon, Marquita S.Robinson, and Catrina R. Brown. She was the great grandmother of Naomi I. Blue, Myles C. Carruthers, Kemoney A. Norworthy, Jatavion M. Robinson,Jacayden M. Robinson and Jaziyah A. Martin. The loving sister of Eleanor Blue of Capital Heights M.D. also the aunt of Charlene Gomez of Fayetteville N.C.David L.Murchinson Jr. of Plattsburgh N. Y., Marci Gordon of Plattsburgh N.Y., Lamont Murchinson of Plattsburgh N.Y., Ramsey C. Gilmore of Fredrick M.D. Anwar D. Gilmore of Capital Heights M.D. and a large spiritual family.
