Obituary

Born on July 20, 1955, in Cassopolis, Michigan, Loisa lived a life defined by beauty, creativity, and compassion. A gifted photographer, musician, and true songbird, she captured the world's quiet wonders through her lens and her melodies. Later, she found her true calling as a florist, combining her artistic spirit and love of nature to bring joy, comfort, and color into the lives of others.

Loisa dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her church from a young age. She faithfully used her gifts in ministry as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunshine Band Lady, and Choir President and Director at the local, district, and state levels. Her devotion to God and her service to others reflected her deep, unwavering faith — a light that guided her throughout her life.

Loisa's artistry shone through in everything she did — from her floral designs to the way she nurtured those she loved. She had a rare gift for seeing beauty in ordinary moments and sharing that beauty with the people around her. Mom was a beloved mother to all who knew her, offering prayer, kindness, wisdom, and love with an open heart. Her warmth, laughter, and steady grace touched everyone who crossed her path.

Loisa was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Mae Gillispie. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Audra (Emmett) Rodriguez and Amanda Taylor; her beloved grandson, Zachariah; her siblings, Pat Murray of Dowagiac and Randy (Trina) Murray of Dowagiac; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory always.

Her faith, love, and artistry will continue to bloom in every life she touched — in every photograph, song, and flower she leaves behind.
