Life Reflections
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
Lloyd Coleman was born October 29, 1942, in Yard, Texas (Anderson County) to the parentage of the late Arthur Walsh Coleman and Waiters Cornelius Coleman (Govan). Lloyd entered eternal rest on May 9, 2025. A cherished member of his family, Lloyd was known for his kind-heartedness and deep commitment to his family and friends. He spent most of his life in Dallas, where he became a valued member of the community. Lloyd's career as a barber was as dynamic as his personality. He owned Lloyd's Barber Shop and remained in practice for over 60 years. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. Lloyd touched the hearts of many with his great sense of humor and contagious laugh. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Lloyd was a true cowboy and enjoyed raising his livestock of cattle and horses; going on trail rides with his family and the "Backwoods Posse," playing dominoes, outdoor grilling, and watching the Dallas Cowboys were his favorite pastimes. Lloyd united with Friendship Baptist Church in Yard, Texas, and accepted Christ at an early age.
He met the love of his life in 1963 at the well-known State Fair of Texas in Dallas, Texas, and was united in holy matrimony one year later to the late Lois Coleman. They celebrated 60 years of wedded bliss. With this union, they celebrated the birth of two children, Lloyd Coleman Jr. and Stacee Youngblood. Lois gained her heavenly wings on January 9, 2025.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lois; son Lloyd Jr.; and brother A.W. Coleman Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Stacee Youngblood; brother Curtis Coleman (Marilyn); sisters Eunice Rose, Joyce Cook (Clarence), Fannie Watson (Lon Gene), and Georgia Stanford (Jerry); grandchildren Cameron Coleman, Courtney Coleman, Dillon Youngblood, and Kali Youngblood; greatgrandchildren Camarion, Londyn, Cayden, Chance, and Tyla. Lloyd also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
