Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Her faith remained the foundation of her life, and she faithfully served as a member of Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church for more than seventy years. From an early age, Linda was recognized and respected by her peers and elders as a wise, gifted, and talented teacher. Throughout her life, she mentored and encouraged countless individuals as they pursued professional careers and completed undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. She possessed a remarkable ability to recognize potential in others and inspire them to reach beyond what they believed was possible.

Linda was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from James Madison High School in 1965. She continued her educational journey while employed by the United States Postal Service, raising her children, faithfully serving her church, and remaining active in her community. Linda earned an associate degree with honors from Cedar Valley College. She later attended Dallas Baptist University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees with honors. Her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence were evident throughout every stage of her academic journey. Following her retirement from the United States Postal Service, Linda became a renowned and inspirational public speaker and an accomplished Toastmaster. She later joined the staff of Paul Quinn College, where she served as a recruiter and educator. Linda believed deeply in the transformative power of education and dedicated herself to helping others achieve their fullest potential. Always willing to pursue new opportunities, Linda moved to Boston with plans to enroll at Harvard University and earn her doctoral degree. Her journey instead led her to Martha’s Vineyard, where she accepted a position as Director of Hostel Support. Unfortunately, health challenges brought this chapter of her journey to an earlier end than she had planned.

Linda’s dedication to Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church was evident through her many years of faithful service. She established the church’s Sign Language Ministry and served on the Library Committee, as Superintendent of the Sunday School Department, and as a member of the Mission Advisory Council. She was also an active member of the Young Women’s Council, the Trinity Circle, and the Pearlie Mae Adams Small Group.

Linda was the loving and devoted mother of five children: LaNece, Angela, Lamel, Shawn, and Quince. Her son, Lamel, preceded her in death. She was passionate about supporting, guiding, and encouraging her children and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.

Linda leaves a remarkable legacy to be cherished by her children, LaNece Hill-Fletcher, Angela Hill, Shawn Hill, and Quince Hill and his wife, Tina; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Quince Jr., Quintas, Tony, Angel, and Christian; her brothers, Tommy Miller and Tyrone Miller; her sisters, Janice Willis and Symphuel Anderson and her husband, Charles; her great-grandchildren; and a loving host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, church family, former students, mentees, and devoted friends. Linda’s life was one of faith, wisdom, education, service, and encouragement. Her influence will continue to live through the many lives she touched, the lessons she taught, and the legacy of excellence she leaves behind.
