Linda Faye was born on March 25, 1949 in Paris, TX and was peacefully called to rest on March 19, 2019.  She was one of nine children raised by Superintendent F.T. Pratt, Sr. and Sam Ella Pratt.  Linda was raised in the Church of God in Christ and later joined the Inspiring Body of Christ Church, were she was a member for over 20 years.

She was a 1967  graduate of Paris High School and went to attend Langston University in Oklahoma.  After school, Linda relocated to Dallas, TX and worked at the Texas Welfare Department, Mobil Oil and the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company.  She met and married the love of her life, Richard Thomas on February 12, 1983.  The couple had one daughter, Richelle.

Linda later started her own company, Draperies by Linda, which sold blinds and window coverings to the general public.  The business expanded to supply furniture and furniture parts to the Texas State Prison System.  While working her business, Linda instructed in the Continuing Education  Department of Cedar Valley College for two years.

Linda was a wife, mother , business woman and steward of her community.  She enjoyed people, visiting churches, and attending conventions.  Our beloved is often remembered for her flair for fashion.  She lived a joyful life, generously giving to those that knew her.  She was honored numerous times for her volunteerism and service to the education community. Her vibrant personality was infectious with the love it spread.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory her husband Richard Thomas, daughter and son-in-law Dr. Richelle and John Della Jr., brother Supt. F.T. Pratt Jr (Arzella); sisters Christine Conley, Mary Pratt and Fannie Sauls.  She leaves a legacy of love with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Roy Clifton Pratt and Leonard T. Pratt and sisters Ruth Brown and Lillian Ann Brooks.
