Obituary

Linda Claire Rutherford Farmer

Born to the parents of Estelle and Herman Rutherford, Linda Claire Rutherford-Farmer, was born on April 24, 1948, in Jamaica Queens, New York; where she received the Lord and her education. She was raised with her eldest sister, Joyce Rutherford-Brunson. In 1979 she moved to Dallas, TX with her husband, Grant Farmer III. They were blessed with a daughter, Kimberly Monique Farmer. A few years later she made Allen Chapel A.M.E. (now Greater Allen Temple) her church home; where she remained a faithful member for nine years. She later transitioned to the Tabernacle of Praise Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Matron for the A. E. Sharp Drill Team, and later became the President of the Hospitality Ministry.

She worked at the (I.T.V.A.) International Television Association for 15 years, until the company closed, and later worked and retired from Citigroup Financial. She had a profound love for he City of Irving, TX, where she gained many great friends that became like family. She was the type of woman that would welcome any child into her home, advocate for them at the school, and take them to church to learn the Word Of God!

She dedicated her life to being a great mom, and that extension of love was transferred to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Herman, mother Estelle, and her sister, Joyce.

She leaves to cherish all the precious memories; her daughter, Kimberly, granddaughter, Kalvary, grandson Kason, and a plethora of surrogate daughters, sons, nieces, and nephews.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
