It is with the deepest sorrow that I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Leroy Willis Sr., a man who meant so much for all of us. He departed from this earthly life on March 2, 2025, at the ripe age of 77.
We have lost a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and a great friend. Born to Larkie Lee Willis and Ruby Jewel Mitchell on January 6, 1948,
in Dallas, TX, Leroy was a man of unwavering resolve and boundless energy. In his lifetime, he not only built his own business but also served
as an inspirational figure coaching football and administrating Pop Warner Football for almost half a century. He was also an ardent bowler,
his spirit of competition burning brightly in the DFW area for well over five decades.
Leroy was a man of many traits - his generosity, tenacity, fierce loyalty, and stubbornness were well known to us all. Despite these, at the
forefront of his character was an overwhelming love for his family, a love that he showed through every word and action. His kindness, support,
and warm sense of humour touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark that will be forever cherished. Leroy's absence will be dearly felt,
for the void he leaves behind can never be filled.
Leroy's legacy continues in the lives of his sons, Leroy Willis Jr. and Marcus Willis; his stepsons, Patrick Hunter and Roderick Hunter; his
grandchildren, Tim, Ashley, Josh, Charles, Kennedy, Cameron, Blake, and Isaiah; and his tender, young great-grandchildren, Zoey, Peyton,
Caden, Aubrey, Paisley, and Camden Jr.
We remember the loved ones he has been reunited with in spirit; his wives, Stella Willis (1978) and Julia Fae Willis (2014), and honor his
journey to join them in eternal peace.
As we mourn the loss of Leroy and celebrate his remarkable life, let us remember to extend the virtues he exhibited to each one of us - love,
kindness, and undying, steadfast support. In doing so, we ensure that his spirit continues to guide us as we navigate our own paths through life.
